In Mondo Zoo, you have at your disposal your very own virtual zoo that you can build according to your dreams and visions for the establishment. All of your decisions, of course, have to be aligned also with the need for the zoo to earn you a continuous income for its maintenance. All of these translate to a simple yet very immersive experience in managing a zoo… all in the comfort of your living room or office desk.
First, you have to register for an account. All you need to do is just enter your desired username, your desired password and a valid email address and you’ll be good to go. You can, alternatively, play right ahead and see if the game is to your liking first. You’re assigned a code that you can enter to continue where you left off in the virtual world, but registering will automatically save your progress. The code also expires after a week so, if you decide that you like the game, register right away.
Everything in the game is centered on raising the zoo’s level. To upgrade the zoo’s level, you will need to accomplish a list of tasks. Finish all of these tasks, and you can proceed to the next level of the zoo. Reaching a specific level unlocks certain buildings in the virtual zoo as well as making available upgrades to buildings that you have already built from previous levels.
Leveling up also rewards you with in-game cash, called LOL. LOL is also earned for free when visitors start coming to your zoo, which starts 8 hours after you build the first enclosures in the mini-farm.
A zoo is not a zoo without animals, of course. You can purchase pairs of animals from the WAF, or through the game’s Black Market. When you buy animals, you’re asked how many individuals of male and female variants of the animals you will want to purchase. This is necessary for breeding; after a time, your animals get pregnant and you have little ones to take care of. Of course, this means that your farm grows as well.
In addition to the zoo’s mini farm and its corresponding enclosures, you can also build income-generating buildings as well, like a souvenir shop and a hamburger restaurant. This is to help you gain more income from your zoo’s visitors.
Other buildings you can construct in Mondo Zoo include toilets for gentleman, ladies and handicapped people.
