Miniland Adventure: Prologue is the introduction to a brand new sandbox, open-world survival game brought to you by Gameparic. Dropped into a world filled with adventures waiting to happen, you are in control of your own gameplay, exploring an untamed world filled with curious creatures, and even enemies to fight. So, get crafty as you will need to keep your wits about you along with the tools in your hands, in order to survive and thrive.
If you have played games like Minecraft, Terraria, and even Forager, you will get the gist of this game pretty quickly. The core gameplay here is pretty much the same as any other sandbox open-world survival game, which is you get to go wherever you want in a massive environment and do all kinds of activities from crafting, construction, taming animals, and much, much more. To start things off, you should probably get yourself some basic tools for survival.
Waking up for the very first time in the game, you will find that the only things in your inventory will be a sharp stone and some other miscellaneous items. Equipped with the sharp stone, you can begin whacking on the trees within your vicinity to collect resources. With these resources, you can then access your inventory and check out the crafting options, which will lead you to a whole new world of things to do. Surprisingly, the sharp stone can break apart almost everything, so you can even use it to destroy the large rocks and get materials from them.
Now at first, players might be confused as to why they seem to be trapped on a very, very tiny island. But do not worry, as the game will soon show you how to literally expand the island and create more land mass for you to occupy and walk on. Before long, you might even have created an entire continent! You can edit your world at any time by simply tapping on the “spacebar”. If you ever get lost on what to do next, or how to do certain things, there is a handy Tutorial Book that you can access by pressing “T” on your keyboard.
As this is a survival game, your character will have a hunger and thirst meter shown at the bottom of the screen (very Minecraft-like). So, do not forget to munch down on some radishes and berries, and quench your thirst with drinkable water. Later on, you can even rear animals and get meat and other edible products to diversify your diet.
Another exciting aspect of the game is the day and night cycle. While things seem pretty carefree during the day, the night is when your environment may suddenly become hostile. When night comes, you will notice some odd, skeletal-like creatures appear from within the darkness and attack you. You can choose to fight them, if you are equipped with weapons such as a sword. Otherwise, it is best if you hide within the confines of your base, assuming you have already built one.
In summary, Miniland Adventure: Prologue is a really fun sandbox survival game to try out. As of the prologue version, the game only has a single-player mode, but who knows, there might be multiplayer added in when the full game releases.
