Bringing quality learning to impoverished families through ABCmouse! Not everyone has the opportunity or the access to high-quality learning resources at home and this is especially true for impoverished families where both parents (or the single parent) are already juggling more jobs just to put food on the table and to pay the bills and the rent. They just can't possibly afford to provide any additional educational materials for their child to learn from at home.
Due to this, the Age of Learning launched the "ABCmouse: Bringing Learning Home" initiative where parents from these families could obtain a free home checkout access to ABCmouse.com Earnly Learning Academy through the nearest participating local or public library. ABCmouse.com is an award-winning online learning program that offers expert-designed curriculum tailored to kids from preschool up to second grade. Featuring more than 8500 individual learning activities, the program covers topics like science, health, the arts, and social studies, as well as helps to hone crucial skills like reading and listening.
Hopefully, the initiative will help close the educational gap between the low-income children and their peers, allowing them to avoid going to kindergarten unprepared and letting children who are already in school to catch up with their studies, particularly their reading skills.
